M2SYS Technologies has announced its next #biometricchat, set to take place this week, on July 25, 2013 at 11 a.m. EST, featuring guest input from Steria Group to discuss the results of a recent survey of European attitudes towards biometric technologies.

The Steria Group survey being discussed, as we reported earlier this month, found that a majority of Europeans support the use of biometrics for criminal identification and for identity documents and passports, though slightly less than half are supportive of technology replacing PIN numbers for bank cards.

According to the M2SYS blog post on the #biometricchat, topics covered will range from the results of the European survey, the convenience vs. security of biometrics, USA vs. European view of how biometrics impacts privacy and civil liberties, ‘passive biometrics’, how vendors can advance public education of biometrics as well as an exploration of the viability of emerging biometric modalities.

For those new to the format, M2SYS has posted instructions for participating in this month’s #biometricchat.

Questions for Steria can be emailed to marketing@m2sys.com, and M2SYS will try to include them in the chat. The full list of questions will be posted on the M2SYS blog later this week.

M2SYS’s last #biometricchat featured Maxine Most, from Acuity Market Intelligence.
