Morpho launches biometric tablet

 

Morpho has launched its MorphoTablet, which secures mobile data operations using biometrics and cryptographic functions.

Specifically, the MorphoTablet includes a fingerprint sensor, and a high-resolution camera to capture and verify biometric data. The device features a 7-inch touchscreen, as well as integrated card readers (including NFC). An SDK is also available.

Morpho is currently demonstrating the tablet at the Mobile World Congress, underway in Barcelona.

“With MorphoTablet, mobile network operators have a powerful device for the swift and secure registration of customer data in the field,” Yves Portalier, VP, Programs & Marketing at Morpho’s Telecom Business unit said. “MorphoTablet ensures that operators can meet evolving data registration regulations, while also offering customers an open-ended range of innovative services, thanks to our software development kit.”

According to the company, banks, insurance companies and other service providesr are likely users of the new device.

Reported previously in BiometricUpdate.com, Morpho along with Datacard Group recently announced a new partnership to support the INTERPOL Travel Document Initiative.
