Zwipe joins the FIDO Alliance

Zwipe has joined the FIDO Alliance, the group announced recently.

“As we continue to transition from ‘start-up mode,’ it only made sense to join an organization that is on the front lines of standards and interoperability among authentication devices,” the company said in a blog post announcing its membership in the growing organization.

“Right now, in 2014, we are seeing mobile devices, wearable technologies and biometrics converging across all industries, from access control to banking to retail and we are well-positioned to become an integral player in what is becoming the hottest industry across the globe.”

Reported previously in BiometricUpdate.com, Zwipe also recently announced that it received a new product award from the Security Industry Association at ISC West, which took place in Las Vegas.

The FIDO specifications support a range of authentication technologies, platforms and mobile devices. IriTech plans to bring its expertise in iris recognition, server software platforms and developments of iris recognition enabled mobile devices.  The Alliance recently released the first public review draft of its technology specification.
