EAB organizing biometrics in banking seminars in Frankfurt, London and Amsterdam

The European Association for Biometrics is currently organizing three ‘Biometrics in Banking and Payments’ seminars that will address the broader financial industry by providing a forum for local, regional and national financial communities.

The seminars will take place in Frankfurt on September 24, London on October 16, and Amsterdam on November 26.

EAB has been working with local partners who have direct access to the financial industry to ensure strong participation from the financial sector.

The one-day seminars will highlight the opportunities of biometrics in the financial and payments markets, with focus on sharing use cases based on successful implementations and how to adapt them in the respective countries of the participants.

“Besides the obvious potential of biometrics there are still questions regarding biometrics, which we can’t take for granted,” said Max Snijder, Secretary of the EAB Management Board and organizer of the series. “Now, while biometrics have started to proliferate into various new social and business communities it is important that mature knowledge is transferred and understood. The ‘Biometrics in Banking and Payments’ seminar is exactly doing that by providing first class content and networking.”

Attendees will learn how biometric applications can support their organizations by optimizing key aspects of the banking and payment processes, including customer interaction, operational efficiency and fraud reduction and prevention.

The seminar programs will cover biometrics for banking and payments at the strategic and regulatory levels (European legislative and regulatory aspects), the major drivers and developments in modern banking and payment practices, innovative implementations, and products and solutions.

The seminar will also feature a showcase exhibition where companies will be demonstrating their products and solutions, including Bitkom for the Frankfurt seminar, Financial Fraud Action UK for the London seminar, and Holland FinTech and Platform Identity Management Nederland for the Amsterdam event.

Previously reported, European Association for Biometrics is organizing the EAB Research Projects Conference 2015 (EAB-RPC), Europe’s largest conference on research in the area of Biometrics and Identity Management on September 7-8 at Fraunhofer IGD in Darmstadt, Germany.
