Precise Biometrics licenses Precise BioMatch Mobile to ELAN

Precise Biometrics has partnered with Taiwanese sensor manufacturer ELAN Microelectronics Corporation in which it will license Precise BioMatch Mobile, its fingerprint recognition product for mobile devices.

The license agreement will generate royalty revenue based on sales of fingerprint sensors from ELAN, which are volume dependant and cannot be forecasted at this time.

The contract also includes a limited initial fixed fee for the right to integrate and use Precise BioMatch Mobile, as well as for support and maintenance, which will commence from the third quarter of 2015.

Precise BioMatch Mobile provides easy integration of fingerprint matching functionality for smartphones and tablets, while being optimized for small touch sensors in mobile environments through a unique patented hybrid algorithm.

The software quickly, accurately, and securely verifies the user’s identity, providing consumers with a convenient user experience with improved security when unlocking their mobile device or authenticating to services.

Previously reported, Precise Biometrics recently partnered with Fingerprint Cards (FPC) to integrate its Precise BioMatch Mobile in another smartphone whose name was not disclosed.
