Two new Huawei smartphones feature Fingerprint Cards’ sensors

Fingerprint Cards announced today that its fingerprint sensor technology is featured in two recently launched Huawei smartphones. The Huawei Y9 device was launched with FPC1028/FPC1511 sensors and the Huawei Nova 4e device with FPC1511 sensors.

The Swedish biometrics company noted that it is “very proud and delighted to provide world class biometrics for Huawei.”

Last month Fingerprint Cards announced the launch of its first optical fingerprint sensor, FPC1610, designed to be mounted under the display of smartphones.

In its 2018 year-end report the Swedish biometrics firm acknowledged that the challenging mobile market would impact short term sales but noted that its strategy for the coming years to diversify and broaden the business includes defending and building on its strong position in the smartphone segment.
