Five new smartphones feature Fingerprint Cards biometric tech

 

Fingerprint Cards has revealed the recent deployment of its biometric sensor technology in a number of new smartphones. The FPC1511 fingerprint sensor is featured in the Redmi 7 and Huawei’s Y7 2019, Y6 and Enjoy 9e models. Fingerprint sensor FPC1145 is featured in the Kyocera Duraforce Pro 2 device.

Acer’s new enterprise Chromebook 714 and Chromebook 715 also features the FPC1145 fingerprint sensor.

According to Fingerprint Cards’ annual report for 2018, in-display fingerprint sensors for the smartphone market will be a prioritized area of research and development for the company, even as the company diversifies its focus to secure share in the emerging markets for biometric cards and automotive and embedded sensors.
