Idex, Feitian partner on supply chain solution for biometric card manufacturers

Idex Biometrics has signed an agreement with Feitian Technologies to supply smart card manufacturers with a complete pre-lam inlay solution based on Idex’s dual-interface technology and Feitian’s fingerprint card pre-lam inlay technology.

The pre-lam inlay is a major structural component within the biometric smart card. The Feitian pre-lam inlay was designed specifically for use with the Idex dual-interface fingerprint sensor and offers smart card manufacturers considering biometric cards a reliable and cost-effective route to market.

“This unique combination between Idex and Feitian gives us a reliable and cost-effective end-market solution,” says Stan Swearingen, CEO of Idex Biometrics. “Through Feitian’s growing customer base, we have a clear route to market whilst Feitian’s pre-lam solution, containing Idex’s sensor, offers other card manufacturers a simple and reliable means of making a biometric smart card in high volume for their customers.”

Idex Biometrics also entered into partnership with Silone Cardtech earlier this month to deliver mass volume, dual-interface biometric payment cards in China. And last month the Bank Card Test Center in China began its certification process for cards with Idex’s dual-interface fingerprint sensors and the company also recently revealed that its technology surpasses key requirements for compliance, security and biometrics performance by multiple global payment schemes.
