Iris ID integrates iCAM M300 with Integrated Biometrics Sherlock fingerprint scanner
Iris ID has integrated its handheld iCAM M300 multimode platform for biometric enrollment and verification with the FBI-certified Sherlock fingerprint scanner developed by Integrated Biometrics, the company announced.
“IB is extremely pleased for the Sherlock to be chosen for integration into such a cutting-edge mobile multi-modal identification device,” said David Gerulski, executive vice president of Integrated Biometrics. “Our lightweight, low-power devices, based on IB’s patented Light Emitting Sensor film, are enabling a completely new approach to identification for police, border authorities and more.”
The fingerprint reader can be attached to the iCAM M300 which makes it optimal for field use. Sherlock has a FAP 45 FBI certification which confirms it is in line with the agency’s image quality conditions in virtually any environment, including indirect or direct sunlight, dusty conditions and with dry or dirty fingers. Connected to the iCAM M300, Sherlock can scan two fingerprints at the same time and comes with long-lasting battery life.
iCAM M300 is Android-based and is equipped with iris and facial recognition technology. It includes magstripe and contactless card support, as well as an MRZ reader to verify ePassports. It is operational with a number of communication protocols including NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and 4G LTE. The identification device was specifically developed for law enforcement to use in the field, but also for access control, national ID programs and border control, among others.
“Equipped with Sherlock, the iCAM M300 offers access to the three leading modes of biometric authentication ¬– iris, fingerprint and facial ¬– in a lightweight unit that performs virtually anywhere,” said Mohammed Murad, vice president global sales and business development, Iris ID. “Sherlock integration is a tremendous enhancement to the growing Iris ID line of biometric authentication solutions.”
In 2018, iCAM 300 was recognized by the Security Industry Association as the 2018 New Product Showcase award winner for best mobile app.
