Worldline presents biometric facial recognition payment solution at NRF 2020

Worldline has developed in partnership with OneVisage, winners of Worldline’s e-Payments Challenge, a biometric facial recognition payment solution which will be showcased next week at NRF Retail’s big show 2020, the company announced.

The first of its kind, the company claims, the pay-with-your-face solution leverages 3D facial biometrics and gives users complete contrive over their data, ensuring data privacy.

“The power of transformation lies in deep understanding and anticipation of what drives today’s consumers,” said Vincent Roland, Managing Director Merchant Services of Worldline. “Who imagined the shockingly powerful acceleration of e-commerce some years ago that took by surprise even the most advanced brick and mortar stores that were considered masters of the retail space? Rather than talking about our solutions, we invite merchants of all sectors to co-imagine their customers’ journey together with our experts and contribute to the shopping experience of the future. Worldline consistently invests in growing the company’s reach and we want to cover all merchant expectations in the physical, as well as the digital space and be the one who delivers all payment acceptance solutions for all types of merchant categories.”

The facial recognition payment system is part of Worldine’s strategy to enhance consumer experience through futuristic live demos that help merchants and retailers understand their customers’ thought process.

Online shopping has become an important part in sales and retail strategy, which means companies now have to deliver different shopping experiences as part of their loyalty and retention strategy to satisfy increasing customer demands and expectations.

Other use cases and solutions showcased at NRF 2020 include one-stop-shop solution for seamless consumer experience and Omni-channel services for in-store, out-of-store and back-office including WL One Commerce Hub and interactive payment devices Yumi and Valina.

NRF 2020 takes place in New York City from Saturday, Jan. 11 to Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2020.
