Dubai police expand use of BIO-key fingerprint biometrics to secure network access

Fingerprint-Identification

The Dubai Police Force (DPF) has expanded its use of biometric hardware and software from BIO-key to secure access to its Windows applications.

Police in Dubai are using BIO-key’s PIV-Pro FIPS 201-compliant fingerprint readers and ID Director for Windows after a successful initial deployment, which was announced last March. In addition to renewing an annual software subscription, the force has now purchased additional PIV-Pro scanners and additional licenses for ID Director for Windows.

“The Dubai Police Force, one of the world’s premier law enforcement agencies, is recognized for its use of innovative technologies and extremely high security standards,” BIO-key CEO Mike DePasquale responds. “We were proud to be initially selected for this program in March 2019. The program’s expansion is further testament to the performance and value of our technology and service and should serve as a strong reference for other law enforcement customers.”

BIO-key is in the middle of a significant international expansion, including increasing business in Africa and Europe.
