New Acuant health APIs, biometric toolkit to support public reopening, IdentityMind upgrades KYB
Acuant has released a toolkit and API set including facial biometrics as part of the new Acuant Health to provide solutions for government agencies and employers to ensure a safe return to public life.
Hospitals, clinical laboratories, specialty care centers, retail pharmacies, medical and dental practices, mental health providers and agencies around the world use software and hardware provided by Acuant. Acuant’s Trusted Identity Platform leverages patented technology for patient management and access, to ensure public health and controlled substance dispensing.
By introducing Acuant Health, the company wants to solve identity management challenges in healthcare, and provide assistance during the COVID-19 crisis with its solutions MedicScan and Ozone.
The purchase of Trusted Digital Identities creator IdentityMind will help Acuant target digital identity capabilities in public health and safety.
Acuant Well ID provides governing bodies with a number of secure tools to track citizens’ and employees’ health status during the pandemic. Users go through a simple process to give consent, onboard applications, verify location, device and identity documents through biometric facial recognition. Acuant Ozone uses cryptography and hash authentication technology to ensure security and privacy. The assembling process takes two to four weeks.
“Acuant’s mission is to bring trusted identities to all. It is more critical now than ever before to establish trust in all industries, especially healthcare. We intend to expand our efforts in this time of crisis, but also in everyday battles that are fought relating to trust and identity,” said Yossi Zekri, president and CEO of Acuant, in a prepared statement. “Our Trusted Identity Platform is built for fighting good fights and we aim to make a big impact in bridging identity and health.”
IdentityMind adds data from OpenCorporates to improve KYB solution
IdentityMind has enhanced its ecosystem by adding data from OpenCorporates to expand the capabilities of its Know Your Business (KYB) solution. OpenCorporates is a global database that includes the official information of more than 180 million companies, for which it provides an audit trail. Companies using IdentityMind’s KYB solution can comply with regulation, reduce validation and identity risks.
“Knowing who you are doing business with is one of the most significant challenges businesses face today. It is fundamental for businesses to reliably evaluate who they are doing business with as nefarious actors may use complex corporate structures to hide their identities and the true nature of their business,” said Neal Reiter, VP of Platform, IdentityMind, in a prepared statement. “Our clients will now have access to company data as registered in public records, and the directors registered to those businesses. This enables compliance and risk analysts to validate records automatically, and manually investigate only when necessary, making for an efficient and effective KYB process.”
IdentityMind’s KYB solution delivers business verification capabilities and supports the KYB process with an orchestration layer that KYC, sanctions and PEP screening, machine learning and case management.
“Our mission is to create a trusted business environment by making the world’s company data available for all, ensuring that everyone knows exactly who they are working with. As part of this, our data helps make the verification step of the KYB process more accurate and reliable, allowing financial services companies to more effectively identify and root out illicit activity,” said Chris Taggart, CEO and co-founder of OpenCorporates.
