SIASA launches biometric tablet with Suprema fingerprint technology for Latin America market

Sistemas Integrales de Automatización (SIASA) has launched a new multifunctional biometric tablet featuring Suprema ID’s BioMini Slim 3 FAP30 fingerprint scanner module.

The BioPad is a robust and mobile full-feature solution for time and attendance, access control, user enrollment and identity authentication applications, according to the company announcement. It includes an 8-inch touchscreen, runs Android 9.0 on an Octacore 1.8 GHz processor, with an integrated 13.56 MHz reader for contactless smartcards. It is IP67 for protection against dust and water, and can also withstand impact from a 1.2-meter fall onto concrete.

The tablet connects through WiFi or an optional RJ45 adapter, and provides GSM/GPRS, 4 GB RAM, 64 GB ROM, Bluetooth, Micro SD/TF and Nano SIM Slots. In addition to a standard version, SIASA offers a version with a Zebra SE7410 barcode reader for fast and easy 1D and 2D barcode capture.

SIASA has long-established wholesale distribution expertise in the Mexican and Latin American markets, and the company recommends the new device for fingerprint enrollment, personal data capture and remote card issuance, though other applications will follow time and attendance and biometric enrollment, which are available this month.

Suprema and SIASA have worked together for years, including to supply Mexico’s ePassport project in 2012. The BioMini Slim 3 was certified to the FBI’s PIV and Mobile ID FAP30 specifications last September.
