Precise Biometrics integrates facial recognition with open cloud-based access control platform

Precise Biometrics has integrated its biometric technology for physical access control with cloud-based access control system Telcred Access Manager, which supports open hardware from a range of providers including Axis Communications.

The facial recognition capabilities of Precise YOUNiQ are integrated with access control systems for convenient and secure touchless access. Precise used Telcred’s API for integration with external systems to build YOUNiQ into Telcred Access Manager, which provides the software engine for IP-connected door controllers from Axis Communications.

“The integration of our identification software for seamless access to facilities with Telcred’s open platform for access control reflects our strategy to partner with modern and innovative platform providers,” comments Precise CEO Stefan K. Persson. “We are looking forward to continuing working with Telcred, Axis and Zynka as we proceed on our growth journey within the Digital Identity area.”

Persson recently noted increased demand for contactless access control in a review of the company’s first half of the year.

Building information management and “digital twins” provider Zynka Group will deploy the solution at its Gothenburg headquarters, as the first customer signed on for the biometric solution. Zynka also provides an access management solution for customers of its platform for digital buildings through integration with Telcred.

“Face recognition as a credential technology combines high security with unrivalled convenience,” says Telcred CEO Carlo Pompili. “The integration effort with Precise YOUNiQ was trivial which illustrates the strength and possibilities of truly open platforms. We see many potential applications for this technology, and we think it will become increasingly adopted in access control systems over the next few years.”
