Ariadnext face biometric authentication solution receives FIDO certification

Digital identity solutions provider Ariadnext announced on Tuesday it has been awarded a certification by the FIDO Alliance program for its facial recognition authentication solution.

The accreditation was given to Ariadnext for its IDCheck.io solution, the company’s identity verification service.

The laboratories that certified the IDCheck.io solution are the ELITT laboratory in France, specializing in trusted transactions, and LETI ITSEF, a company specializing in IT security. Both institutions are accredited by the FIDO Alliance to jointly perform biometric tests in accordance with FIDO’s ISO 19795 and ISO 30107 standards.

IDCheck.io uses face biometrics to verify users’ identity, and according to Ariadnext, is aimed at helping FIDO’s vision to move beyond traditional authentication methods and towards passwordless solutions.

The biometric authentication tool comprises two separate components. The first one is FaceMatch, a face verification solution developed in-house.

The second component is a PAD (Presentation Attack Detection) system that works via a component supplied by Ariadnext’s partner BioID GmbH, a biometrics provider based in Germany.

According to Ariadnext, during the solution’s certification, more than 1,200 sessions were performed with users from the general public.

The tool’s reliability was also tested against more than 300,000 combinations and 500 different attack techniques, including photos printed on different media, 3D avatars, and video projection.
