NIST Hosts Cybersecurity Center of Excellence Workshop Today in Maryland

 

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in cooperation with the State of Maryland and Montgomery County, Maryland will host a National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence Workshop which will be held today from 9am to 4pm at the Universities at Shady Grove, Rockville, Maryland.

The National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) is a public-private alliance that aims to promote the extensive adoption of integrated cybersecurity tools and technologies. Experts from the industry, government, and academia will come together to discuss various problems of cybersecurity today, demonstrate the capabilities of technology and how to deliver abrupt yet economical solutions to these challenges.

The speakers for the workshop include the Under Secretary of Commerce for Standards and Technology and NIST Director Patrick Gallagher, Information Technology Laboratory Director of NIST Chuck Romine, Computer Security Division and Acting-Director Chief Donna Dodson, and Federal Programs of Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO) Director Roland Kaese. U.S. Department of Health and Human Service’s Office of Civil Rights Director Leon Rodriguez and Chief Privacy Officer of the Office of the Coordinator for Health Information Technology Joy Pritts will serve as the panellists for the NCCoE workshop.
