Security Company AuthenTec added to Russell 3000 and Global Index
The latest publication of Russell Investments shows it has added AuthenTec to its list of companies that will make up Russell 3000, Russell Global and Russell Microcap(R).
This automatically includes AuthenTec, a leading provider of mobile and network security, in the large-cap Russell 1000 Index or small-cap Russell 2000 Index for a year.
Globally, Russell 3000 is a U.S. component to the Russell Global Index. Criteria in determining membership to Russell 3000 are objective, market-capitalization rankings and style attributes.
There are advantages on being part of the Russell indexes. Investment managers and institutional investors use it for index funds and benchmarking investment strategies.
Russell Investments has built its reputation in benchmarking when in the 1980s it saw the need to evaluate outside investment managers, by coming up with tools that are more objective, market-driven set of benchmarks. Now, Russell benchmarks an industry-leading $3.9 trillion in assets. On a daily basis, it practically calculates more than 80,000 benchmarks which are approximately 98 percent of investable market globally, 83 countries and more than 10,000 securities.
