EyeLock appoints Roger An VP of Global Market Development

EyeLock has announced the appointment of Roger An as Vice President of Global Market Development.

In this role, An will be responsible for research, analysis and strategic initiatives to further the embedded applications of the technology and to facilitate EyeLock’s global expansion, with a heavy focus on Asia.

According to the company, An comes to EyeLock with extensive experience managing corporate development and cross-border transactions during his previous work for SK Group – the largest petro chemical and telecommunications conglomerate in South Korea.

“Right now, biometrics is absolutely booming and iris is the safest, most secure and easy-to-use biometric of them all. EyeLock’s technology has great global potential and we’ve only hit the tip of the iceberg. Our initial deployments throughout the past several years have been extremely successful, and we anticipate an even higher demand for our solutions in the near future,” Jim Demitrieus, EyeLock CEO said. “We are pleased to welcome Mr. An to the EyeLock team, and we look forward to leveraging his expertise to develop and implement global business partnerships that take advantage of the technology’s game changing applications. Before SK Group, An was a Product Controller at Bankers Trust Company where he joined as a founding team member responsible for the launch of the bank’s proprietary and successful BTIF family of mutual funds.

Reported previously, EyeLock also recently appointed Darlene Crumbaugh as its new VP of financial services.

The company also recently launched an iris recognition SDK to developers.
