Google is slowly rolling out new voice recognition functionality to its Android Google app, according to a report by Tech Spot.
The feature will enable users to unlock their Android devices by using a simple voice command.
The new Trusted Voice feature can be activated from the Smart Lock settings, allowing users to unlock their devices by simply stating, “OK Google.”
Google warns that the voice recognition unlock feature is not as secure as the PIN option or custom swipe pattern entry that are already available on Android devices. It also warns that someone with a similar voice or recording of your voice could unlock your device.
The new feature is currently available for certain Android devices. Google has not provided a specific timeline for when its availability will be extended to all users.
