Precise Biometrics, FPC integrate fingerprint recognition in Yulong smartphone

Precise Biometrics announced that its mobile fingerprint recognition solution, Precise BioMatch Mobile, as well as Fingerprint Cards’ (FPC) touch fingerprint sensor FPC1025, has been integrated in the Yulong’s Coolpad Tiptop Pro smartphone.

“Precise BioMatch Mobile enables convenient and secure fingerprint recognition for smartphones,” said Håkan Persson, CEO of Precise Biometrics. “We are happy that yet another leading Chinese smartphone vendor has chosen to integrate our product, which shows that we have established a strong position in the Chinese market.”

The value of license revenue cannot be determined at this point as it is based on the number of sensors FPC delivers to the mobile phone manufacturer.

Meanwhile, the order value of the phone launch is included in FPC’s communicated revenue guidance of more than 1,500 MSEK for 2015.

“Yulong is a leading smartphone manufacturer in China and we are proud that Yulong selected FPC1025 for its first smartphone with a touch fingerprint sensor,” said Jörgen Lantto, acting president and CEO of FPC. “FPC1025 supports 360 degree finger rotation capability, fast response time and industry leading 3D image quality.”

The integration was reported in the interim report for the first quarter 2015 as one of two new mobile phones that includes Precise BioMatch Mobile.
