GenKey healthcare solution shortlisted for Africa Healthcare Award

GenKey’s biometrics based healthcare solution has been shortlisted for the ‘Solution of the Year Award’ in the category ‘Awards for Technology and Solution Providers Operating in Africa and/or Exporting to Africa’.

The Africa Healthcare Awards recognize excellence and achievements in the field of African healthcare provision; as well as recognizing new international solutions and technologies that have the potential to create positive change in Africa.

The awards are judged by an expert panel drawn from senior management from African hospitals, Ministries of Health, healthcare providers, NGO’s and leading African distributors.

“We’re delighted to have been shortlisted for this prestigious award and to have our healthcare solution recognized as an important solution for changing Africa’s healthcare”, says Michiel van der Veen, CEO of GenKey. “The implementation of our unique biometric solution has shown to have a huge impact on the healthcare system in Ghana, offering long-term benefits. A clean member database, instant ID card issuance, biometric verification at healthcare providers and claim verification are contributing to huge cost savings, fraud reduction, better member management and continuous improvements in the efficiency of the NHIS in Ghana.”

The Africa Healthcare Summit 2016 Awards Ceremony will take place February 17. GenKey is participating in the Africa Healthcare Summit with a conference presentation on Day 1 and a booth at the exhibition.

BiometricUpdate.com recently interviewed GenKey CEO Michiel van der Veen about deploying biometric identity and election management solutions in Africa, key growth factors that have contributed to the rise in adoption, and its FastAFIS SDK and BioHash technologies.
