CMITech previewing iris recognition system at connect:ID

Iris recognition technology firm CMITech will be previewing its new EF-45 iris recognition system at the connect:ID exhibition in Washington DC this week.

In a statement, the company says that the EF-45 is an integrated iris recognition terminal that features a highly innovative user experience that displays the user’s face on a high resolution 5.0 inch touch screen display during positioning, providing for greater user ease of use.

The EF-45 is an embedded device, with all image processing on-board, including the option for local iris matching. The system will initially be offered in two configurations, one for ID management applications, and one for physical access control that will include a comprehensive set of wired connections such as Wiegand and a multi-class ID card reader.

“Our company’s legacy and strategy is to bring advanced technology to the biometrics and identity management markets,” said Dr. JJ Chae, CEO of CMITech. “The new EF-45 culminates the vision we have had from the beginning of our company, which is to provide the simplest and most intuitive capture experience within the iris recognition field at highly attractive pricing.”

The full market launch for the EF-45 is expected to be in May with production deliveries beginning in the 3rd quarter of this year.
