Precise Biometrics and Fingerprint Cards technology in new Redmi and Gionee smartphones
Fingerprint Cards (FPC) and Precise Biometrics are providing the fingerprint technology for the new Redmi and Gionee smartphones.
The Gionee W909 features the FPC touch fingerprint sensor FPC1025 and Precise Biometrics’ algorithm solution for fingerprint recognition in mobile devices, Precise BioMatch Mobile.
The Redmi 3 Enhanced edition features the FPC touch fingerprint sensor FPC1035 and Precise BioMatch Mobile.
In this past month, Precise Biometrics and FPC also announced the integration of the companies’ fingerprint technologies in the F4 by 360, the OPPO R9 and R9+, and the Vivo Xplay5.
According to reports, Chinese smartphone vendors are expected to ship 200 to 300 million fingerprint recognition enabled smartphones in 2016.
