The Daily Star is reporting that Veridos is set to win the contract to provide ePassports to Bangladesh. The cabinet committee on economic affairs recently approved a home ministry proposal for awarding the job.
A cabinet division official said the German company would provide technical support and cooperation. A memorandum of understanding on the ePassport implementation project was signed last year.
Earlier this year Veridos announced that the Republic of Kosovo is planning to role out mobile driver’s licenses nationwide on an app leveraging Veridos’ VeriGO DriveID platform. The company also acquired ID card verification technology provider E-Seek and merged the companies to strengthen its authentication portfolio and North American presence.
