Facepoint Joins NVIDIA accelerator program

Facepoint has joined the NVIDIA Inception program, a virtual accelerator program that helps startups in AI and data sciences during critical stages of product development, prototyping and deployment. According to the announcement, the NVIDIA Inception program is helping to improve the progress of using biometrics in the fight against financial crime.

Inception members receive a custom set of ongoing benefits, from hardware grants and marketing support to training with deep learning experts. NVIDIA’s technology provides speed and accuracy of image processing.

Facepoint offers a facial recognition-based solution that addresses KYC regulatory requirements in the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism. The company says it aims to become a key player in Europe’s financial intelligence and regulatory compliance system.

“Nothing we do in the fight against crime would have been possible without the recent incredible progress in AI,” said Damien Martinez, CEO of Facepoint. “NVIDIA technology has been key in our actioning of this new type of intelligence.”

Earlier this year facial recognition platform provider AnyVision joined NVIDIA’s Metropolis Software Partner Program to provide AI and deep learning-powered automatic facial recognition for “smart city” CCTV deployments.
