Brisbane Airport selects SITA again as its technology partner

Brisbane Airport in Australia has once again selected SITA as its technology partner in a new agreement that will see SITA develop and extend the technology it provides for passenger, baggage and airport services. Brisbane Airport and SITA have been working toegether for more than 20 years.

Brisbane Airport has more than 23 million passengers each year. In recent years, Brisbane has introduced ground-breaking technology to transform the passenger experience including Australia’s first self-service bag drop and the first introduction of biometric technology, SITA Smart Path, which offers secure, seamless travel through the airport.

“We are proud to extend our partnership with Brisbane Airport which has spanned more than two decades,” said Sumesh Patel, SITA President, APAC. “Brisbane Airport is an innovator, leading with services from bag drop to biometrics. We are looking forward to continue to address the airport’s challenges and meet its evolving needs as it continues its 3.4 billion-dollar transformation over the next few years.”

Earlier this year SITA deployed biometric ABC kiosks at three airports in Mexico, and was recognized with an Aviation Technology Achievement award at Air Transport World 2018 for its work with JetBlue and U.S. Customs and Border Protection on biometric self-boarding.
