Universal Power Industry Corp unit to sell Weibridge facial recognition technology in North America

Universal Power Industry Corporation (UPIN) division Advanced Technology Group has reached a deal with Shanghai Weibridge Network Corp. to be the exclusive licensed distributor and representative of its facial recognition technology in North America.

UPIN will have access to all new and existing Weibridge products, as well as technical support and proprietary data. Weibridge facial recognition will be marketed by UPIN to city, state, and federal government bodies, and private sector companies, with particular focus on financial institutions and the transportation sector.

“The company is extremely pleased that we were able to reach an agreement with Weibridge regarding their products and technology,” says Universal Power Industry Corporation Executive Vice President Mr. Chiu. “The company envisions facial recognition technology will become a security standard.”

Gen Market Insights issued a report earlier this month predicting that Chinese companies will hold a 44.59 percent share of the global facial recognition market by 2023.
