NEC featuring face recognition tech at APTA’s 2018 Annual Meeting

NEC announced its participation in the American Public Transportation Association’s (APTA) 2018 Annual Meeting being held next week in Nashville, Tennessee.

Together with its partners, NEC will present a number of solutions to enhance public transport, including solutions that feature NEC’s face recognition technologies, NEC’s cloud-based Fleet Management Solution, an Automatic Fare Collection System and ePaper displays for real-time passenger information.

The APTA is an international organization that has been representing the transit industry for over 100 years. APTA membership includes providers of bus, light rail, commuter rail, subway, waterborne passenger services, and high-speed rail.

NEC Corporation of America Vice President of Federal Operations Benji Hutchinson recently spoke with Biometric Update about public facial recognition deployments and the current debate about the technology.
