NEC showcasing facial recognition at AVSEC World Day and GITEX
NEC announced its participation in AVSEC World Day 2018 and the Global Airport and Passenger Symposium (GAPS) taking place October 1-4 in Athens, Greece. The event brings together executives from airlines, airports, law enforcement agencies and immigration authorities to share ideas and solutions to improve the aviation industry.
NEC joins the inaugural AVSEC World Day as a Bronze Sponsor. NEC Europe vice president and executive adviser Mr. Michael O’Connell will join the Aviation Security 2030 Session as a speaker. NEC will also participate in the first GAPS exhibition, where the company will showcase Mobile Authenticator, a mobile identification solution using facial recognition with liveness detection.
The company also announced its participation in the GITEX 2018 Technology Week, the biggest technology show in MENA and South Asia, taking place October 14-18 at the Dubai World Trade Center. GITEX brings together attendees from more than 120 countries, including 4,000 exhibitors spread throughout 21 halls.
NEC will demonstrate its facial recognition solution for access management, NeoFace Access Control. They will also feature advanced display solutions, software-defined networking and unified communications solutions under the theme of “Co-creating the Future through Smart Digital Transformation.”

NEC recently launched its Open Innovation Centre in Singapore. The OIC is a part of the wider NEC innovation ecosystem and demonstrates NEC’s commitment to foster open innovation and partnerships with the private and public sectors.
