Ping Identity launches IDaaS product for enterprise app developers

Ping Identity has launched a cloud-based service for developers building identity services into customer-facing applications to help large enterprises launch apps more quickly, replace difficult to maintain custom identity services, and facilitate the transition to cloud deployment.

PingOne for Customers provides API-based Identity-as-a-Service (IDaaS) to make it faster and easier for application developers to embed services including registration, login, profile management, and multi-factor authentication (MFA) directly into applications, according to the announcement. The company says that organizations undertaking more cloud-first business initiatives struggle to integrate and support new cloud and SaaS offerings with their existing identity infrastructures. PingOne for Customers supports identity standards including OAuth, OpenID Connect and SAML, and offers APIs, extensive documentation, and a dedicated community to boost ease of use as developer teams come together. The service also provides diverse implementation and deployment options, including hybrid IT support, delegated administration, and other enterprise requirements.

“The developer community wants to build applications and just leverage a service for securing login and registration, versus creating the capabilities themselves in their app,” says Ping Identity Chief Product Officer Steve Shoaff. “PingOne for Customers saves time and valuable resources by greatly simplifying how developers integrate identity and access management services into their application development process. By providing easy to integrate identity services, developers can focus on other high-value work and their enterprise customers can rest assured their applications are secure.”

Ping recently integrated its PingID MFA product with Microsoft Azure Active Directory and Active Directory Federation Services for enterprises to run applications on Azure AD.
