The Identification Technology Association (IdTA), a trade group that promotes the use and widespread adoption of biometric, identity management, and cybersecurity technologies, is hosting an event next week to celebrate its recent transition to management under Monument Advocacy with Andrew Howell serving as president.

Howell has been a partner at Monument for 12 years supporting the firm’s marketing of technology solutions and emerging technologies. Prior to Monument, Howell served as VP of Homeland Security Policy at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

John Wagner, Deputy Executive Assistant Commissioner, Office of Field Operations, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, will be the special guest speaker and will discuss CBP’s evolving use of biometrics, the success of current facial recognition technology pilots, and plans for additional biometric technologies in the future. He will also discuss how CBP is working with other components within DHS on use of identification technologies.

The advocacy group noted that it is excited to welcome members and friends to celebrate this new phase of the association. The event takes place on February 11 between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM at the Monument Advocacy office in Washington, DC. Tickets are still available.
