Onfido reports 130 percent YOY growth, new hires, partnerships, U.S. expansion
 

Onfido reports a successful 2019, marked by 130 percent year-over-year growth in revenues for its biometric and digital ID offerings, expansion to the U.S. market through the purchase of systems integrator Aviata, strategic executive management hires and industry praise, the company announced.

In the last quarter, Onfido achieved SOC-2 compliance, entered a partnership with CIAM leader ForgeRock and finalized the acquisition of Aviata.

Onfido boasts a 60 percent year-over-year team growth, bringing more seniors to its North American market business development. The company claims 7 out of 10 potential clients that run a trial to test its performance versus another solution choose Onfido.

“2020 is set to be one of our strongest years yet, as we continue to grow our global presence, attract key talent and roll out Digital Access as a Service to enterprises,” said Husayn Kassai, CEO and co-founder of Onfido. “We’re also actively preparing for the future, with many of our engagements around reusable online identities entering their next phase of development, putting consumers in control of their legal identity and widening digital access to much needed online services.”

Besides the acquisition of Aviata, Onfido has also partnered with Entify to further expand in Eastern Europe, expanded its London headquarters, and hired 50 new team currently to a team of currently 340 members.

Key hires include Robert Humphrey as CMO, previously at SecureAuth and ForgeRock, Jim Wangler as Vice President of Sales Americas, previously sales lead at SecureAuth, MuleSoft and IBM, Rick Hofmann as Vice President, Partnerships & Alliances, formerly Vice President of worldwide channels strategy for Pkware and Snr. Director of Symantec’s commercial reseller organization, Mark Thomson as Vice President, Customer Success, previously Regional Director at Infor, EMEA Head of Services at Vitria Technology and EMEA Vice President of Services at BroadVision, and Mickey Martin as Solutions Engineer Lead, who previously led teams at Transmit Security, ForgeRock, Oracle and HP Enterprise Services.

Noteworthy business wins and partnerships include the integration of Onfido’s combined Digital Registration, Identity Verification and Authentication solutions to ForgeRock’s CIAM platform, Ubisecure deploying the technology for its customers’ digital identity solutions, contract renewal with Bunq, partnership agreement with b-Sharpe, contributing with its expertise and best practices to whitepapers put together by World Economic Forum, partnering with the Faroe Islands to introduce eID and with e-voting provider Agora.

Onfido was recognized as the number one tech innovator by FinTech50, it was included among Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50, Business Insider’s Tech 100 and ranked 8th out of 100 fastest growing tech companies by Sunday Times TechTrack. Kassai was also awarded Juniper Research’s FinTech Mover and Shaker of the Year.
