The IDCheck.io biometric identity verification solution from Ariadnext is powered by liveness detection from BioID, according to a partnership announcement from the companies.

Ariadnext was just certified to the FIDO biometric standards based on the ISO/IEC 19795 and ISO 30107 standards, and new details about the certification and the biometrics provider’s partnership with BioID are revealed in the announcement.

ISO/IEC 19795 relates biometric error and throughput rates, while ISO/IEC 30107 relates to presentation attack detection (PAD), which is the capability provided by BioID.

“The collaboration with BioID enables us to provide an even higher level of assurance through comprehensive face anti-spoofing methods in IDCheck.io.”, says Marc Norlain, General Director at Ariadnext. “A sophisticated certification procedure like that of FIDO gives our customers another objective reason for trusting our solutions.”

IDCheck.io is intended to enable reliable and intuitive registration for online services. BioID Liveness Detection uses two selfies taken with any standard camera during the remote onboarding process, and ensures they are images of a live person with reliable detection of fakes like photos, videos or masks, according to the announcement.

“It is great to support ARIADNEXT’s FIDO biometric component certification with our liveness detection.”, says BioID CEO Ho Chang. “Both companies share a common vision that a trusted identity is the basis for a secure cyber community. This FIDO certified solution is a major step in this direction.”
