VinCSS FIDO2 authenticator with biometric option recommended by Microsoft

Fingerprint-Identification

Vingroup member VinCSS Cyber Security Services LLC is now officially recommended by Microsoft. The company’s VinCSS FIDO2 Authenticator key is now included in Microsoft Azure Active Directory’s (Azure AD) list of approved password-less authenticators. In a historic first, the company joins 12 of the world’s foremost security firms as the first Vietnamese enterprise to be added to Microsoft’s list.

Thanks to the VinCSS FIDO2 authenticator, an encrypted USB key, users can now forego using a password and instead authenticate via fingerprint biometrics or a PIN. This allows patrons to remotely access Microsoft Azure AD services while also enjoying cutting-edge security. This fast and seamless process also helps minimize the risk of unwanted information disclosure, a risk that remains high during password log-ins and phishing attacks. VinCSS FIDO2 authenticator can also be used to authenticate users on other popular Microsoft platforms such as Windows 10, Office 365, and Windows Hello.

VinCSS’ physical FIDO2 token is now a recommended authenticator for access to Azure AD, Microsoft’s cloud-based identity and access management platform. Azure AD augments log-in security and secures internal and external access to resources.

This company milestone comes after a six-month testing and assessment process conducted by the Microsoft team that examined the enterprise and technology capabilities of the VinCSS FIDO2 Authenticator. Currently, VinCSS FIDO2 is one of 13 authenticators worldwide to meet Microsoft Azure AD’s strict login security parameters.

“VinCSS has completed the development of VinCSS FIDO2, an international standard strong password less authentication ecosystem, a comprehensive ‘Made in Viet Nam’ platform, which is capable of changing the game in the cybersecurity field by providing strong authentication with great user experience,” says VinCSS General Director Do Ngoc Duy Trac. “This ecosystem includes various types of FIDO2 keys and a system of specialized technology solutions capable of reducing up to 80 percent of network security risks, completely eliminating risks from phishing attacks and stealing account information and OTP.”

Microsoft’s recent acknowledgment follows VinCSS FIDO2 certification earlier this year and presents another boost for Vietnam’s international tech presence and prestige. Being chosen by tech giant Microsoft signals global confidence in VinCSS’s ability to satisfy the most difficult clients and markets.

The company’s authentication server and USB authenticator have also each been certified by the FIDO Alliance.
