European Association for Biometrics (EAB) is hosting a Council of Wisdom event about hand biometrics.

The EAB Council of Wisdom is new EAB format set up to answer any questions you may have regarding biometric modalities, technologies, research and more. This edition will focus on Hand Biometrics, including fingerprints, veins, and palms.

Matteo Ferrara (University of Bologna), Raymond Veldhuis (Norwegian University of Science and Technology), Martin Drahansky (Police Academy of the Czech Republic in Prague) and more will join this panel to answer participants’ queries.

Here are some of the questions that will be asked:

– Are there any standards for palm image quality, similar to what there is for face modality?
– Can medical diseases change our veins or arteries to an extent that it would affect vascular biometric performance?
– How mature is the synthetic fingerprint generation tech and how much can we trust it? What are some of the common pitfalls and problems that still exist and need to be addressed?

Registration is free but required.
