DSIT seeks firm for ‘independent assurance’ to improve DIATF certification scheme

The UK Department for Science, Innovation & Technology (DSIT) has issued a tender for an organization to assist third-party conformity assessment bodies (CABs) with assessment activities, as part of a pilot for the UK digital identity and attributes trust framework (DIATF) certification process.
The tender notice seeks a vendor to “provide independent assurance activities that will help DSIT and CABs continuously improve the certification scheme and connected processes, and to support implementation of changes as required,” in alignment with ISO/IEC 17065:2012 standard. It is identified as an “urgent requirement.”
The total estimated value of the contract is £80,000 (US$108,426), or £95,000 (US$128,784) including VAT. Estimated dates are from July 4, 2025 to March 31, 2026, with a possible extension to March 31, 2028. It is identified as being particularly suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) and voluntary, community and social enterprises (VCSE).
Evaluation metrics are weighted as follows: 30 percent for personnel skills and experience, thirty percent for delivery approach, 20 percent for organizational capabilities, 10 percent for sectoral knowledge and expertise, and 10 percent for cost.
The enquiry deadline is June 13, 2025. Tender submission deadline is June 30, 2025.
The decision is expected on July 3, 2025.
The pilot process is expected to conclude this year, as CABs are gradually accredited by the UK Accreditation Service.
