Superior Business Solutions and HT Systems, a leader in biometric positive patient identification, will be exhibit the PatientSecure palm vein authentication technology at the Arab Health Conference, taking place January 28-31, 2013 in Dubai.

SBS and HT Systems have signed an agreement for SBS to act as HT Systems exclusive agent to promote the HT System’s flagship product, PatientSecure, to clients in the Middle East region.

“There is a growing need in the Middle East region for providers to adopt the latest technology in patient identification systems to avoid duplicate medical records and ensure that the right care is given to the right patient.,” SBS CEO Adel Eid Yousef, said.

“Whether it is improving patient safety or controlling insurance fraud, healthcare organizations are now increasing their efforts to precisely identify the patient when they are registered into the hospital or visiting for outpatient treatment. The palm vein biometrics have been successfully used in many hospitals in the United States and are very well received by patients as well as hospital staff,” Adel added.

As reported previously in BiometricUpdate.com, PatientSecure is a biometric patient identification management system that automatically links patients to a unique medical record, providing accurate identification of every patient, preventing fraud, reducing human errors and improving operational efficiency. Over 160 hospitals and hundreds of affiliated clinics and physician’s practices currently use the system and more than five million patients are currently enrolled.

Recently, the state government of Michigan announced it will roll out PatientSecure technology, through its Michigan Health Information Network (MiHIN), in conjunction with its Health Information Technology (HIT) Cyber Security Program.
