Morpho to showcase biometric payment tech at CARTES

Morpho has announced that it will be presenting its 3DBioSecure technology at the 2013 CARTES exhibition, taking place this week in Paris.

This particular technology uses biometrics to validate mobile payments.

“With digital transactions on the rise, 3DBioSecure is a perfect illustration of how biometrics can help meet security challenges in the banking sector”, Régis Bauchière, Director, Identity Management of Morpho’s Identification Division said.

Morpho’s 3DBioSecure uses biometrics to establish a link between the private key and its owner.

According to the company, 3DBioSecure was selected as a finalist for the SESAMES Award in the “Trusted Internet / Authentication” category.

Reported previously, MorphoTrak, a subsidiary of Morpho recently deployed at 3D facial recognition system at a members-only club in Houston as a form of access control to certain areas of the facility.

This summer, Frost & Sullivan published a statement in favor of mobile biometric payment systems, arguing the industry must focus on payment security and that biometrics represents the best solution for achieving this.
