Fingerprint Cards CEO suspected of insider trading – Fingerprint Cards AB announced last Thursday that its CEO Johan Carlström and a company shareholder were under investigation for insider trading. The company is cooperating with the Swedish Economic Crime Authority and has launched an internal investigation.

More than 30,000 Australians registered voiceprints with ATO in biometric authentication rollout – The Australian Taxation Office announced that it has recorded more than 30,000 “voiceprints” from Australian citizens since the agency rolled out its new biometric authentication system.

PayPal adds fingerprint authentication to more Samsung devices – PayPal announced at the Samsung Unpacked Episode 2 event in Berlin, Beijing and New York that it is now allowing users to swipe their fingerprints to log in to pay with PayPal on the new Samsung Note 4 and Gear S.

Barclays introduces biometric finger vein reader for customers – Barclays new customer authentication solution, Barclays Biometric Reader, is backed by Hitachi’s Finger Vein Authentication Technology (VeinID) and will be available in 2015 to its Barclays Corporate Banking customers.

Apple adds smartwatch, biometric payment capabilities to iPhone – Apple announced its new Apple Watch, a “smartwatch” featuring four sensors that will measure its user’s pulse and also unveiled its latest set of iPhones that have added biometric capabilities.
