PayPal has added Apple’s Touch ID fingerprint authentication to the iOS version of its app to prevent unauthorized individuals from logging into an account, according to a report by Ubergizmo.
The fingerprint authorization capability has been expected for quite some time as PayPal previously announced it would be adding Touch ID support.
PayPal users can download the iOS update in the iTunes App Store.
The move comes a month after PayPal’s head of developer evangelism, Jonathan Leblanc, discussed cutting-edge technologies in development to authorize transactions and other sensitive online interactions in a presentation titled “Kill all Passwords”.
