Sonavation establishes strategic advisory board and appoints members

 

Sonavation announced it has established a Strategic Advisory Board (SAB), which is designed to strengthen its business strategy, technology strategy and market sector prioritization.

Along with the activation of the SAB, Sonavation has appointed new SAB members, effective immediately.

The company has named Karl Fredrick Rauscher chairman of the Strategic Advisory Board.

Rauscher currently serves as ambassador-at-large for cyberspace policy at the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), as well as previously served as CTO and distinguished fellow of the EastWest Institute.

“Digital security is constantly changing and threatened, and here at Sonavation we have a central commitment to ensure that our products effectively address these threats to both enterprises and consumers alike,” said Karl Weintz, Sonavation chairman and CEO. “With the collective counsel of the Strategic Advisory Board, we’re looking forward to their insight, combined with our own expertise, to build a secure and safer future for all.”

The other members of the Strategic Advisory Board include Michael Chertoff, Dr. Tam Hulusi, Timothy Stratford, John Boyd, Alex Rosal, Sultan Meghji, Jim Cable, Stephen Sadove, and Guang Yang.

Chertoff is the former secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and founder of the Chertoff Group.

Dr. Hulusi is a principal of technology strategy and innovation consulting group. Mycroft LLC, and most recently served as SVP of strategy and innovation at HID Global.

Stratford is a managing partner at Covington & Burling LPP’s Beijing office and a member of the International Trade, Corporate and Government Affairs Practice Groups.

Boyd recently served as the director of the Department of the U.S. Navy’s Identity Management Capability in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy.

Rosal is an entrepreneur in the financial, identity management and mobile payments markets, and the chairman and CEO of Securtech LLC, which integrates software solutions, biometrics and customized hardware to combat cyber-fraud.

Meghji is an international advisor to large enterprises, private equity firms and governments, and currently serves as founder and managing partner at Virtova.

Cable served for more than 18 years as CEO, president and board chairman of radio frequency integrated circuits (RFICs) firm Peregrine Semiconductor, and previously served in different managerial positions at both the Hughes Microelectronics Center and Hughes Technology Center.

Sadove is the principal at Stephen Sadove and Associates, and most recently served as chairman and CEO at Sak’s 5th Avenue.

Finally, Yang is founder and CEO of Beijing-based private equity fund Finergy Capital, and a partner of Nicklaus-China, which aids in the strategic, comprehensive and responsible growth of golf in China.

Previously reported, Sonavation CTO Rainer Schmitt received the 2015 CQR Chairman’s Award from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers’ (IEEE) Technical Committee on Communications Quality & Reliability (CQR).
