New version of the Nok Nok S3 Authentication Suite released

Categories Biometrics News  |  Trade Notes

Nok Nok Labs announced it launched its latest version of the Nok Nok S3 Authentication Suite, a unified platform enabling organizations to use standards-based authentication supporting a range of biometric modalities.

The FIDO Certified solution is designed for organizations deploying customer-facing applications that require Internet scale authentication supporting the newest mobile devices with biometric authentication.

This latest version provides improved user/customer engagement, stronger security using the FIDO Universal Authentication Framework (UAF), decreased costs associated with authentication, and greater privacy.

The authentication solution enables simplified, strong and scalable authentication for organizations with Internet-scale mobile applications and web properties, while also being compatible with future authentication methods that support FIDO specifications.

“As a founding member of the FIDO Alliance, we recognize the demand in the market for a unified solution that allows a more secure, yet simpler experience across heterogeneous devices, services and operating systems,” said Phillip Dunkelberger, president and CEO of Nok Nok Labs. “With this latest release of our Nok Nok S3 Authentication Suite, we are delivering omnichannel authentication that enables organizations to better engage their customers and quickly leverage the latest biometric innovations.”

The latest version of the Nok Nok S3 Authentication Suite includes a range of features, including fingerprint-enabled strong authentication, out-of-band authentication, reduction of ‘friendly fraud’, and broad coverage with multiple authentication modalities (fingerprint sensors, iris recognition, voice biometrics, and face biometrics).

The Nok Nok S3 Authentication Suite has already been deployed by a few companies — including NTT DOCOMO, PayPal and Alipay — with further pilots currently in progress at major banks, mobile network operators, healthcare solution integrators, and major trading networks.

The new version of the Nok Nok S3 Authentication Suite will be available in the late fourth quarter of 2015.

Previously reported, Nok Nok Labs added support for both iOS 9 and Android Marshmallow platforms for its FIDO certified Nok Nok App SDK.
