Letv LeMax Pro may include ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and iris recognition: rumors
According to a report by Android Headlines, Chinese smartphone manufacturer Letv’s upcoming device, Le Max Pro, is expected to be launched in the beginning of 2016 and is rumored to be fueled by the Snapdragon 820 SoC (system-on-chip) and may include an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner on the back and iris recognition up front.
Earlier this year, Qualcomm Technologies released its ultrasonic-based 3D fingerprint authentication solution. At the time, Raj Talluri, senior vice president of product management at QTI commented that “Snapdragon Sense ID 3D Fingerprint Technology‘s unique use of ultrasonic technology revolutionizes biometrics from 2D to 3D, allowing for greater accuracy, privacy and stronger authentication”.
Letv is expected to start selling their devices in the U.S. soon and to make the official announcement during CES next month.
It remains to be seen whether Letv may introduce this device during their official press conference at CES 2016.
