Biometrica integrates database with VSBLTY platform for stadium and event security

Criminal-tracking firm Biometrica Systems has successfully integrated its UMbRA database with the VSBLTY VECTOR platform to provide security and surveillance at stadiums and other entertainment venues, the company announced.

UMbRA, or Unique Mission to Build Records and Arrests, is a database of people who have been arrested or convicted of a crime sourced from law enforcement in multiple jurisdictions. It enables law enforcement officers, private investigators, process servers, and private sector security or surveillance professionals to conduct text or facial recognition searches for persons of interest, Biometrica says.

VSBLTY VECTOR enhances security and surveillance in venues with its proprietary FacialAnalytics and Advanced Object Recognition (AOR) technology, according to the announcement. Its software can be used to cross-reference databases for persons of interest, and trigger alerts in real-time.

Biometrica CEO Wyly Wade said the integration with VSBLTY makes perfect sense from a public safety perspective. “Their technology’s focus is on recognizing faces that frequent public spaces — stadiums and concert venues — and ours is recognizing, in operational real time, whether those faces present a threat to public safety,” said Wade. “Together, we hope our integration will usher in a new age of security in stadiums and other entertainment venues.”

“VSBLTY VECTOR is an advanced and proactive facial detection, analysis and recognition technology,” said VSBLTY CEO Jay Hutton. “When you integrate this with access to a comprehensive real-time potential threat database, it takes our focus on security in crowded public spaces, whether stadiums or concert venues or even school buildings, to a whole different level.”

The use of facial recognition for security at stadiums and event venues has been rapidly increasing, with its recent deployments at three stadiums in Uruguay among the latest examples.
