Startup Biometric Vox secures 1 million euro investment

Voice authentication startup Biometric Vox has received a €1 million (US$1.23 million) seed round investment from InnoCapital, the corporate venture arm of Spain-based Banco Sabadell’s InnoCell digital hub, Finextra reports.

Biometric Vox, also based in Spain, was founded in 2015, and offers the CheckVox voice biometrics engine, and the FirVox voice signature platform. The investment is InnoCapital’s second, according to Finextra.

“The solutions which Biometric Vox offers satisfy the increasing demand for personalisation, immediacy and security in the consumption of financial and non-financial services,” InnoCells Executive Director Julio Martínez. “At InnoCells we are committed to startups such as Biometric Vox, which are pursuing technology and digital leadership, and work with a strategic vision of a business model which is based on clear market trends.”

Voice biometrics is showing potential for replacing knowledge-based authentication for high-security interactions with its rapidly growing adoption, Nuance Director Brett Beranek told Biometrics Update in a recent interview.
