FPC announces new deployments of its fingerprint tech

Fingerprint Cards’ sensors have been featured in a few new smartphones released during the last week.

Xiaomi launched the MIX 2S with the FPC1235 fingerprint sensor. This phone is an upgrade from last year´s top model. OPPO launched the flagship series R15 and F7 in India, both with the FPC1228. And Huawei launched its new Nova 3e and Enjoy 8 Plus, both with the FPC1028.

Last month the Swedish biometrics company revealed that it provides the fingerprint sensors embedded in several smartphones launched by OEMs at the recent Mobile World Congress 2018.

Fingerprint Cards recently announced it is adding facial recognition to its portfolio of biometric modalities, and is developing a solution to expand its touchless offerings by combining the convenience of face recognition with the security of iris recognition. The company plans to offer secure touchless biometric solutions which will initially be available for smartphones, and eventually be offered for automotive and IoT applications.
