ZENUM pilots combined biometric and blockchain solution to replace identity documents

Categories Biometrics News  |  Trade Notes

Startup ZENUM has initiated a pilot of its modular multi-factor biometric identification solution to test the use of its PoB (Proof of Body) terminal for identity verification without identity documents.

The solution stores biometric templates in the blockchain, and verifies user identity against a 3D biometric scan with a proprietary algorithm. Users can also create what ZENUM calls a “Biometric Gesture” pattern to use as a “Biometric password.”

“As electronic ID’s expand dramatically around the world, ZENUM is committed to developing and investing in emerging capabilities that deliver a better and more secure identification experience,” said ZENUM Founder and CEO Emidio do Sacramento.

The company says users can also use the technology implement a PoB cold storage cryptocurrency wallet.

The pilot will assess the performance and user experience of the technology in different environments, such as airports and refugee camps.
