IDEMIA’s digital ID solution certified by French IT security agency

IDEMIA announced that French national security agency ANSSI, Agence Nationale de Sécurité des Systèmes d’Information, has granted CloudCard+ its first level security certification.

IDEMIA CloudCard+ is a solution for securing digital transactions with strong customer authentication and digital signatures. According to the announcement, the solution relies on mobile and biometrics to strongly secure web and mobile applications, improve customer experience, reduce costs and ease large-scale deployments.

IDEMIA reports that Cloudcard+ is already being used by millions of end-users. It has been adopted by major French banking groups to comply with PSD2 requirements regarding strong customer authentication and it also enables UK citizens to securely access digital public services using GOV.UK Verify.

Following testing at an independent laboratory accredited by ANSSI the agency confirmed that the software complies with its security goal and validated the efficiency of its security functions. The certification attests to the user’s personal data protection, which are secured by design: users are in sole control of their means of authentication – PIN and biometrics.

“We are proud of this CSPN certification, which attests to the high level of security of CloudCard+, our biometrics and mobile-based strong customer authentication solution, commented Jean-Christophe Fondeur, IDEMIA’s CTO. “It enables private and public organizations to strike the perfect balance between digital security, notably on mobile channels, compliance and user experience.”

Earlier this month IDEMIA announced that its OneLook device, which provides rapid capture, matching, and processing of face and iris biometrics, scored among the leaders in all three performance categories in the DHS 2018 Biometric Technology Rally.
