IDEX joins Fintech Association of Japan, will attend APSCA Digital Commerce Asia Pacific

 

IDEX Biometrics announced it has become a member of the Fintech Association of Japan. The association promotes open innovation in the Japanese fintech industry by creating networking opportunities for members, researching emerging market trends, and cooperating with domestic, international, and government organizations.

The Fintech Association of Japan promotes the country’s fintech ecosystem abroad and encourages the exchange of information internationally. Fintech startups take initiatives in the Fintech Association of Japan on the social significance of accelerating the development of innovation for users through actively engaging with Japanese leading firms.

APSCA Digital Commerce Asia Pacific 2019

The Norwegian biometrics software and fingerprint authentication company also announced it will be attending the APSCA Digital Commerce Asia Pacific event next week in Kuala Lumper, Malaysia.

IDEX will be available to demonstrate its biometric fingerprint technologies being used within a dual-interface smart card for payments. Hunter Hu, Sales Director and Grace Yang, Business Development Director, will be representing the company.

In a recent interview with Biometric Update, IDEX Biometrics CEO Stan Swearingen called 2019 an “inflection point” for biometric smart cards and predicts that dual interface will be used more broadly as biometrics become available for contactless payments, and that “remote enrollment will be the key to mass market adoption.”
