OneVisage and globaliD partner for onboarding with 3D facial biometrics

3D authentication company OneVisage has formed a partnership with digital identity service provider globaliD to integrate its facial biometric technology for account security and onboarding.

OneVisage made the announcement at CES in Las Vegas, where it is demonstrating its Premier Face SDK for 3D facial biometrics and its Premier Secret SDK for 3D graphical authentication. Password logins account for 80 percent of online fraud, and cyber-fraud will reach a cost of more than $6 trillion annually by 2021, according to the announcement, which makes replacing the knowledge factor a matter or urgency for businesses.

“The foundation of a strong digital identity begins with a secure and reliable onboarding process,” says globaliD CEO Greg Kidd. “For globaliD, that means securely establishing identity through a system of third-party attestations—which now includes OneVisage’s industry-leading biometric technology.”

Multiple trusted partners provide attestations of personal information across several categories of identity data for globaliD identity verification. The offering with OneVisage will be available on current iOS and Android devices, giving users an easy, reliable, and secure way to connect with the world, the companies say.

“We are very excited to be working with globaliD and bring them 3D facial biometry technology in a universal, secure and cost-effective way. Nowadays, digital service providers require to offer a consistent and universal authentication experience to all their customers, regardless if their device costs $ 100 or $ 1’000 or if it runs on Android, iOS or Windows platform. globaliD is paving the road of what reliable identity verification services must be,” comments OneVisage Founder and CEO Christophe Remillet.

A number of companies have been partnering up to offer 3D facial biometrics on mobile devices, but FaceTec’s ZoOm 3D Face Liveness Detection became one of few 3D imaging systems applied to mobile account security when it was integrated by Jumio in October.
